FENUADAPT (2026-2028)
Participants FUTURISKS : Alexandre K. Magnan (Cawthron Institute, New Zealand), coord.
Connection to FUTURISKS : The scale and pace of climate change question the future habitability of Pacific islands, particularly those that are small and low-lying. The FenuAdapt project relies on case studies in French Polynesia (Rangiroa and Anaa atolls, Tubuai Island) and Tokelau (several atolls) to understand, based on the views and aspirations of local communities, how climate change threatens the pillars of current and future habitability, and what solutions should be implemented, where, when, and how. FenuAdapt therefore aims, by the end of 2028, to co-design climate change adaptation pathways for the 21st century and to identify the conditions for their feasibility.
